If you want customize the tiles, open the original source project, and look into the "content solution", make a copy of the subdir "Tiles\dos" and rename with a your prefer name like "myTiles".

Now you can edit the tiles under "myTiles", you must respect the original size
128x148 px (widthXheight) because it will be drawed from left down to right up.
You can modify the height (like the exit door) but never change the width, if you do it you must modify some routine and constants into the source code.

You can modify the animation of the tiles when you open the appropriate sequence file, make a copy of the "Sequences\dos" and change it.

For a little help about sequences look the appropriate discussion.

If you implement a simple tile you can only modify graphics and sequences BUT if you want some iteraction like chopper, falling tiles or other you can implement the logic into a new class c# of the project.

The new class will be override the base "Tile" class you must implement the default constructor, see for an example the platform class (the simplest) :
  • on constructor the class it load the appropriate xml sequence (name of the class + "_sequences.xml")
For default the animation engine draw the "normal" tile state
